Definition of the Unified YÖS Exam TR YOS Exam 2024
It is a university entrance exam that will be conducted starting from the year 2024 for students wishing to continue studying in Turkey for the undergraduate degree (Bachelor - Associate) and will be supervised by the Turkish Measurement, Selection, and Placement Authority ÖSYM. This test does not replace other university admission tests, but it will be accepted in many universities in Turkey and the unified YÖS exam will be conducted in all centers inside and outside Turkey at the same time.
According to the statement issued by the Higher Education Council on June 23, 2021, the General Council of Higher Education regarding the admission of foreign students from outside Turkey was amended, and accordingly, the previous decision to conduct the Central Test for the Admission of Foreign Students (MYÖS) was canceled and the decision to hold the Unified YÖS Exam (TR-YÖS 2024) was taken instead under the supervision of the Measurement Center, Selection and Placement Authority ÖSYM It is the responsible for organizing the entrance exam in Turkish universities, the student selection, and placement system, in addition to many other tests.
As the Higher Education Council recommends that Turkish universities to use the results of the TR-YOS Exam Unified YÖS exam 2024 in their basement for students coming from outside Turkey and wishing to study in Turkish universities while leaving the choice for universities to adopt this exam or not to adopt it in its admission.
This exam will be offered for the first time in the first month of the year 2023 and depending on its result, students will be able to apply for admission to Turkish universities for the academic year 2024-2025 and beyond, It is also called the Central YÖS exam.

The exam will be available in Turkish, Arabic, English, German, French, and Russian.
The type of the TR-YOS Unified Questions
No details have been given by the Higher Education Council about the format of the exam questions, but it is expected to be the same pattern as the ÖSYM exam that was held by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Commission (ÖSYM) before 2010 i.e. before universities were allowed to hold their own ÖSYM exams.
That is, they will often be the same questions as the regular YÖS exam, that is, they relate to logic and intelligence in addition to mathematics.

Advantages of the TR-YÖS Unified YOS Exam

Disadvantages of the TR-YÖS Unified YOS Exam
1- The Unified YÖS test is not available in all countries.
2- The central YÖS test has not been conducted before, so it is not known the nature and difficulty of the questions.
3- One test has been announced for the year 2023 so far. Other tests are expected but this has not been officially announced.
4- Not all Turkish universities have recognized this test until the date of writing the article.
5- The test is local, it is accepted in Turkish universities only.
6- The test includes students wishing to study for a bachelor's degree or associate degree in Turkey, not including master's students.

Centers where the YÖS Unified Exam will be conducted
There are many centers accredited to hold the exam, including inside Turkey and outside Turkey, in addition to the centers inside Turkey distributed to most Turkish cities, namely:
Istanbul Ataşehir, Istanbul Kagithane, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Gaziantep, Mersin, Hatay, Edirne, Urfa, Trabzon, Kilis, Van, Kayseri, Maraş, Mardin, Konya.

TR YOS Unified Exam Fees
Exam fees vary between exam centers inside and outside Turkey and are as follows:
- Exam centers within Turkey and in Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, Germany, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus The fees are 800 TL.
- Exam centers in Tunisia, Libya, Algeria, and Indonesia have fees of 250 TL.
- Exam centers in Chad, Nigeria, Niger, Senegal, Jordan, Sudan, and Lebanon have fees of 150 TL.
How to register on the Unified YOS - Official Website
Students who are inside Turkey with a foreign national number or Turkish ID can register through the registration link for the unified YÖS exam on the official website of the Measurement, Selection, and Placement Authority ÖSYM:
Students who are outside Turkey can register in the exam centers by attending in person and registering in these centers, the exam centers were announced on the official website of the Measurement, Selection and Placement Authority.
Documents required from students wishing to register in the Unified YÖS exam centers outside Turkey
1- Registration form.
2- A national identity or passport issued by the Directorate of Civil Status or the Turkish ID must contain the student's photo. Other personal documents such as driver's licenses or student documents will not be accepted.
Note: After obtaining the username, the student must complete the registration procedures through the official website, obtaining the username is not considered sufficient to enter the unified YOS exam.
How to pay the fees for the Unified YÖS exam?

- Devices with headphones, necklaces, earrings, rings (except wedding rings), bracelets, brooches, and other jewelry.
- Key medallion, all kinds of keys, objects containing plastic and metal.
- For hijabs, it is forbidden to use a pin with or without beads.
- Coin or keychain
- Key, transfer card, simple buckle belt, simple wire clip.
- Any electronic/mechanical device, walkie-talkie, camera, etc.
- All that conscious plastic and glassware including sunglasses (except transparent/numbered glasses).
- Bank/credit card cards etc.
- Laptop, clock, an electronic device with dictionary function, calculator, etc.
- Devices that replace the computer.
- All kinds of drilling tools, cuttings, firearms, and similar equipment.
- Pencils, erasers, barriers, all kinds of scraps, notebooks, books, lecture notes, dictionaries, magazines, newspapers, publications, compass, protractor, ruler, calculator, etc.
- Beverages, foods, etc., except for water in a transparent bottle after taking out its casing.
- Medicines in a box/bottle.
All students will be checked by devices or hand in the test buildings, students with any of the items listed above will not be allowed to enter.
The test result will be canceled for any student when there are any of the prohibited items mentioned, whether found before, during, or after the test.
All test rooms are monitored by cameras, cameras will be reviewed in addition to the reports of the monitors.
- It is forbidden for students to talk during the test, or cheat.
- It is forbidden to ask the observers any questions.
- It is forbidden to use drafts or write questions and answers.
- Write questions and answers behind the answer sheet.
- Students exchange pens, erasers, or anything else among themselves.
- Start reading the questions before the start of the test.
- Continue with the solution or read the questions despite the end of the test period
- Behaving in behaviors that may affect the test
The test result will be canceled for students who do not comply with these test rules.
General notes from our experience on the mechanism of testing regulated by the Measurement, Selection, and Placement Authority (ÖSYM ).
1- Attend at least one hour before the test time.
2- Make sure that there are none of the prohibited things.
3- Pens and sharpeners, erasers, and napkins will be provided by the test committee, no need to bring them with you.
4- you must sit in the seat allocated to you, the hall and the seat allocated to you will be mentioned in the document issued on the website of the Measurement, Selection, and Placement Authority ÖSYM. And that is a week before the test.
5- All halls are monitored by cameras, be careful not to cheat, usually, students involved in more than one exam course are deprived, this was not mentioned regarding the Unified ÖSYM test, but they are general rules of the Measurement, Selection, and Placement Authority ÖSYM.
6- Do not write anything on the answer sheet.
7- All tests of the Measurement, Selection, and Placement Authority ÖSYM are automated, that is, they are multiple choice questions, the question paper is used as a draft, and the shading is done in the answer sheet. The answers are corrected automatically, and the test paper and answers are prepared on several different forms and with the same questions to achieve justice among students and avoid cheating.
8- When you receive the question sheet, pay attention to the form and shade it on the answer sheet.
