Kahramanmaraş Sütçü Imam University was established in 11.7.1992 and started teaching in the academic year 1992-1993. Since the day of its establishment, the University has adopted the principle of having criteria to teach and train and maintain it through its social, scientific and cultural activities by renewing and improving itself every day.
The title of Kahramanmaras Sutcu University is continuous learning and change for the future.
Kahramanmaras University includes 13 different colleges, 3 schools, 7 vocational institutes, 5 departments of the administration, 25 training and research centers, and one hospital in which the necessary training is given to students.
Kahramanmaras Sutcu Imam University consists of 8 campuses in Afshar, Bahçeli Evler, Karagasso Campus in the city center, Afşin Mahzuni Şerif, Göksun Arslanbey, Andırın, Pazarcık and Türkoğlu.
The departments and units of the University are located on the central campus of the Afshar campus; the faculties of Education, Science, Humanities, Social Sciences, Fine Arts, Economics, Administrative Sciences, Religious Sciences, Engineering, Architecture, Forestry, Medicine, Dentistry and Agriculture. It also has a foreign language school, a school for physical education and sports, the Institute of Social Sciences and Health Sciences, a hospital.
Afshar campus, which has a modern appearance with its infrastructure and landscapes; it provides the best service to its students through smart classrooms, lecture halls, conference rooms, laboratories equipped with the latest technologies, sports facilities, libraries and student cafeterias.
On the Bahçeli Evler campus, there is a Faculty of Health Sciences, a vocational school of health services, medical school teaching buildings and a gymnasium.
On the Karagasso campus, there are the Vocational School of Technical Sciences, the Vocational School of Social Sciences, the University Hotel (Guest Hospitality Hotel), which is located in a decent area with nature view, and serves with a capacity of 24 people, sports facilities and an indoor sports hall.
The library supports the educational and research activities of the University with its rich collection of more than 74,000 books, 6,044 theses, 430 print journals, 296 audio and video materials, and thousands of e-journals and e-books in 32 electronic databases.
